President Obama

Well, like it or not he is my president.  I pray to God that he be given the wisdom he needs to keep our country FREE and SAFE and I pray that he and his family be blessed with a long and healthy life.

When I think of my new president, I am indeed full of HOPE, and I will list a few here:

I HOPE President Obama pays attention in his daily security briefings.
I HOPE President Obama takes his oath of office to heart and protects our constitution.
I HOPE President Obama finds a way to see the greatness of our nation in spite of politics.
I HOPE President Obama discovers that Americans give without being compelled to, and that much of the world benefits from our charity as a nation.
I HOPE President Obama finds a new church home that preaches the Gospel... and that he hears it with his heart.

I do wish him the best, but I do not wish him success with his big government agenda.  I HOPE the weak kneed Republicans have the gumption to stand up and fight for we individuals that still love our freedoms and the ability to make our own choices.

I HOPE that President Obama is able to overcome the deep partisanship of Washington D.C. and move our nation out of the economic slump it is in, but not at the expense of conservative values being compromised by the likes of John McCain.

Hey, guess what!  The flag was still flying this morning!!!

Socialism

It seems that many people believe that tossing the word SOCIALIST around is bad and it makes the conservatives look bad.  So, I'm going to let the left explain it with their own words.

Let's begin with the Red Letter Press:  Socialism 101

What is Socialism?

Socialism is an economic system characterized by public ownership and centralized planning of all major industries (manufacturing, services, and energy), banks and insurance companies, agribusiness, transportation, the media, and medical facilities.  Under capitalism, these giant enterprises dominate the economy but are privately owned and operated for the purpose of generating wealth for their owners by extracting it from working people who are paid only a small fraction of what their labor produces.  Socialism turns this around so that the class that produces the wealth can collectively decide how it will be used for the benefit of all.

As African American poet and communist Langston Hughes wrote in "Good Morning, Revolution":

...Together,
We can take everything:
Factories, arsenals, houses, ships,
Railroads, forests, fields, orchards...
And turn 'em over to people who work.
Rule 'em and run 'em for us people who work.

Real socialism is, by definition, democratic.  It is economical as well as political democracy.  Many capitalist countries boast of their democratic institutions, but this is an illusion because all the political power is in the hands of those who hold the wealth.  Socialism prioritizes human needs and eliminates the profit motive that drives war, ecological destruction, and inequalities based on gender, race, nationality, and sexuality.

Like capitalism, socialism must be international so that global resources can be shared. No country can be truly independent of the global economy because until capitalism is defeated internationally it will continue to sabotage efforts to build socialism.  Achieving socialism in the United States, the wealthiest and most powerful country in the world, is necessary to any country being able to determine its own destiny.

We are citizens of the world, right?!

In an article written by Gordon Shultz called What is Socialism, he explains why capitalism is bad and touches on many Democratic Party platform planks.  I encourage you to read the article in its entirety; it is a real jaw dropper.  This guy is a socialist, of course, but you'll see there is little difference between his ideas and the POTUS-elect.  Yep, there are some RINOs out there that fit this bill too.  Here are a couple of quotes from that article:

In the United States, there is a need for massive construction of schools, hospitals, child-care centers, and recreation centers.  There is also a great need to repair the nation's deteriorating infrastructure, including its roads, bridges, mass transit, and water systems.  The capital, raw materials, and labor for such development exists, but the corporate rich do not invest in such projects because they correctly judge that it would not be profitable for them to do so.

A socialist government could raise the minimum wage to union levels, cut the work week with no cut in weekly pay, and spread around the newly available work to the unemployed.  A public works program, such as the one mentioned earlier, could be launched to provide yet more jobs and offer more sorely needed social services.  The government could provide free health care from cradle to grave, and free education, from nursery to graduate school.

Are you kidding?  Is this not Obama's plan?  Some 2,500,000 jobs to rebuild the infrastructure of America?  You have got to take the time to read this whole article.

Just two web sites out of millions on socialism.  I do not believe that everyone that voted for Obama is a socialist.  I do believe that most were, and are yet, uninformed.  I want to believe that when presented with the truth they will slap themselves on the fore-head and start looking into things on their own, and become informed.  I'm not sure I'm being realistic there, though.  That is what prompted this post for me.  In reading news articles, blogs, editorials, and comments, I had to make sure I was thinking right, that I wasn't wrong in my beliefs.  It is a lot like double checking your ammo count between fire-fights, always a good idea.

So, is it rhetoric or reality?

Obama's Senate Replacement

BLACK PANTHER and current Representative Bobby Rush (Democrat, IL) is petitioning the Illinois Governor regarding the replacement for Obama in the U. S. Senate.  According to this article, this RACIST PIG (my words) says it would be a "national disgrace" if Obama's seat were not filled by "African American".

Hey, Bobby Racist Rush, how about filling that seat with the most qualified person regardless of race?  There's a concept.  LOOK AT QUALIFICATIONS INSTEAD OF SKIN PIGMENT you disgusting bigot!

I am so sick of the high and mighty leftists that accuse everyone else of being racist and practice racism in virtually every cause they claim.

Bobby Rush.  Co-founder of the Illinois Black Panther Party in 1968.  The Black Panthers.  Feeding the hungry and providing medical care is what they profess.  Marxist revolutionary anti-American thugs is the reality.

Just another Anti-American "progressive a.k.a. socialist" that won't be happy until the good ol' USA becomes the USSA.  He'll continue to get re-elected though.  He has the sheeple of Chicago penned up nice and secure.

Economic Woes, My Observation

I've never gone out on "Black Friday" before.  I'm not a big crowd, uber-shopper type so I usually just stay home, but sleep being over-rated and with curiosity about the economic situation in mind, I ventured out in the early darkness of the morning on Friday.  I was Quite amazed to be honest.  The roads were rush hour level, the parking lots at the local mall, Wal-Mart, Meijer, Office Depot, to name a few were packed with cars.  I went into Wal-mart in spite of liberal hatred of the place, and saw some good deals and tons of people in line.  I didn't buy anything, this was a research trip, but I was tempted by a big flat screen TV which I don't want or need.  It was less than half the normal price at $1400.00.  I went into Sears as well, same story.

The local paper has an article about how spending is up this year by 3%.  It also has an article about how the decline in spending this year because of  the recession will be the cause of many store closings.  So, which shall I believe?  My own eyes I think.

Last night my wife and I went to the movies with another fine conservative couple and guess what?  Yep.  The parking lot was full.  The movie theater was packed.  There wasn't room anywhere in the theater for four people to sit next to each other except way down in the  front three rows.  Dinner after the movie was not as crowded, but it was busy.  People are not sitting at home gnashing their teeth as the media would have everyone believe.  People are out spending money.  Is Central Indiana an anomaly?  Please, if anyone is reading this, comment about your neck of the woods, I really want to know if others are seeing what I am!

All of this leaves me scratching my head wondering how big of a line we are being fed by the media about the economy.  Are we being deceived on purpose about the state of our economy for the purpose of a governmental power grab via BAILOUT after BAILOUT after BAILOUT?  What is going on and where does it end?  At what point is a real conservative (come on Mike Pence, step up!) going to pound on the pulpit in congress and shout ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!  WE ARE A FREE COUNTRY WITH A CAPITALIST DRIVEN ECONOMY!!!  STOP WITH THE SOCIALISM ALREADY!!!

Thanksgiving

To the Sergeant Major that set the example for all of his Marines to emulate, arranged my retirement ceremony and left me with a memory of a lifetime, who bravely put himself in the front of the battle, and then gave his life,
To the Staff Sergeant who loved his son, helped teach me to surf, who came to me for help, In whom I was very proud to lead, that bravely gave his life,
To the Gunnery Sergeant that made me laugh, there, that was the epitome, that taught so many and influenced so many more, that bravely gave his life,
To the corporal come lieutenant that knew how to lead, that was first to give, that bravely gave his life,
To 34 Magnificent Bastards that didn't hesitate, that loved life and their fellow Marines yet bravely gave their own,
To the thousands that I don't know personally that died for me none-the-less, in this war and all previous,
I give my eternal thanks.

For living in the greatest nation on this earth,
For my home,
For my health,
For my opportunities,
For my friends,
For my animal companions,
For the food in my pantry,
I give thanks.

For my mom that has seen the worst of human nature and knows the truth, that once looked to Americans as liberators and has given back to them with her loyalty and citizenship and is now the finest of Americans,
For my pop that taught me right from wrong, that set the example in work and play, that does the job right and causes no one to pick up his slack no matter the task,
For my sisters that show incredible strength in tumultuous times,
For my children for whom the world awaits,
For my in-laws that asked no questions and simply accepted me as one of their own,
For my beloved wife that stood with me through it all,
I give thanks.

For the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ my Saviour,
I give thanks on bended knee.

Fed to Unveil Major Consumer Lending Program

This little article:  http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,457108,00.html  is yet even more proof to me that our government is full of idiots that refuse to learn anything from past mistakes.  The government is in debt and the government wants it's citizens to be in debt.

I pay my bills on time and I have my entire life.  I have a great credit rating because of the ethic taught to me by my parents.  If I want a loan today for a home, a car, or for school, I'll get it with no problem.  This myth that the credit market is frozen is ridiculous because it clearly is not.  I see homes being sold and new cars being driven off of car lots every day.  What has happened recently because of the sub-prime lending induced economic problems is that the standards for getting a loan has gone back to the way it was twenty plus years ago.  If you qualify for a loan you'll get one.  If you don't you wont.  But, the government still wants to qualify the unqualified.

If you need a place to live and can't afford a home then rent.  There are apartments and homes for rent in the vast majority of communities, and there are HUD opportunities as well.

If you need a car and can't get a loan for one, then buy the $500.00 ride from the guy down the street and make the best of it.

If you can't afford college, hmmmm..... join the military?  The educational benefits are huge, but if you aren't qualified for that then you're probably qualified for grants.  If not, then go to college later.

ME me me me now now now now.  I deserve this and I deserve that.  You deserve nothing.  I deserve nothing.  I'm thankful for what I have.  I have been around the world and I've seen what poverty is, I've seen what it is to really need.  We are a very spoiled people to think we deserve anything more than what we earn for ourselves.  Our soon to be even more socialist government sure doesn't want you to believe that though.  The more they can do for you and me, the more you and I will require them in our lives.   Me me me me now now now now.   Freedom freedom freedom freedom gone gone gone gone.  Idiots.  Wake up!

Automotive Bailout

I must say, I'm opposed to propping up any failing business with taxpayer dollars.  I agree with all of the radio hosts that I've heard talk about letting them go bankrupt, restructure, and work their way back into productivity or permanent failure.  Yes, I do understand the huge importance of the domestic auto industry.  Jobs, economic impact on communities, and national security.  No one in their right mind wants these companies to fail.

I toured the Corvette factory in Bowling Greene, Ky earlier this year.  I must say I was very impressed with the facility.  Modern equipment, safety awareness, extremely clean, and very friendly people.  One thing that really stood out to me was the large amount of people standing around doing nothing (or doing a great job on their crossword puzzles) while they waited for the cars to slowly roll to their work station.  Hey, don't be mad at me for telling what I saw.  I also don't have a clue on how to run a car factory, so if I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but it sure seems like there is a lack of time management and a lot of room for maximizing productivity.  Maybe it is time to change the way business is conducted and production lines are run?

Here's an idea I haven't heard anyone mention:  Give GM, Chrysler, and Ford all the taxes back that they have paid this year and a five year tax deferment on top of that.  What is the corporate tax rate, 37 or 39%?  We're talking huge money.  Just a thought, but let them stand or fall on their own.
